The Thai Children's Trust wishes to mark World Food Day 2009 on the 16th October 2009.
This lesson plan and resource can be used to teach students about Hsa Thoo Lei School and the importance of eating a healthy meal at school. As part of this lesson, students are invited to take part in a competition to design an allotment for Hsa Thoo Lei. The winner will be visited by Joe Swift from Gardener's World.
Students are also invited to donate the cost of their school lunch to help students at Hsa Thoo Lei build mushroom sheds. This is a self-sustaining project, so donations will continue to provide nutrition for Burmese refugee children for as long as the mushroom sheds are maintained.
This lesson plan is suitable for Key stage 2 and above.
