The Redemptorist Vocational School for the Disabled

In Thailand, disabled young people are often written off by their families and society because they are seen as having no significant economic contribution to make.
The Vocation School aims to challenge that assumption. It provides an education, vocational training and personal development for young people with disabilities, enabling them to find employment and live independently.
At any one time, the School has 200 students studying graduate training courses in electronic repair, computer science, information technology and English. More than 2000 young disabled people have found work after training at the school, many with prestigious Thai and multinational companies.
Having been given a chance to secure permanent professional jobs, something none of them ever thought they would have, the students work very, very hard.
While academic work takes priority at the School, there is time for play and our students and staff excel in that area too. Both students and teachers have competed in the Paralympics, winning medals and breaking records.
Most importantly, the School teaches them the three es: education plus employment equals empowerment.
