Sarnelli House
Gao's mother died of AIDS when he was five, his father is unknown. He is HIV positive, and needs to take 6 different drugs every day to stay healthy. Since all the children at Sarnelli have to take medication, they support each other.
Sarnelli House offers a caring home, medical and personal support to children orphaned by HIV, many of them born HIV positive themselves. Relationships with local schools and hospitals have been painstakingly built over the years so that the children can live as full and normal a life as possible .
