Bua ran away from her drug-using mother who forced her to work on the streets of Pattaya from 10 pm until 5 am every night selling chewing gum andflowers.

Bua is only 9, and she couldn't any more stand the beatings she received when she missed her sales ‘targets’.  Now she is safe in the Children's Home, and starting to do well at school.

The Redemptorist Children's Home is a haven of safety and happiness for children who have been orphaned, abused or abandoned on the streets of Pattaya.  For children like Bua, this is the key to the childhood they have never had, with friends, fun and education instead of work and regular beatings.
