A number of fraudsters are attempting to use Thai Children's Trust as cover for their illegal activities.
Individuals using the names of Daniel Cooper, Ryan Victor, Michael Ryan, contact us, Timothy Crawford, Michael Brown, Rev. John Fitzpatrick, Pastor Patrick Tony, John Fowler Employment, Arthur W Brown, Richard Smith, Toby Moody, Thomas Hanning, Peter Shawn, Mario Martins and Dr Paul Bryant are attempting to recruit fundraisers on a commission basis - usually in the USA or Canada - claiming that they will raise money to help orphaned children via Thai Children's Trust. Sometimes they ask for donations directly. This is a scam. If you accept such a position you will receive a cheque in the post which you will be asked to pay into your bank account before sending the funds, less commission, to one of the fraudsters. Your cheque will clear, the cheque you received will bounce although it may take weeks. You will lose your money.
If you are offered a fundraising job at Thai Children's Trust, please email webmaster@thaichildrenstrust.org.uk to make sure that it is genuine.
Please note these points:
1. We do not employ Timothy Crawford, Michael Brown Rev. John Fitzpatrick or Dr Paul Bryant or any of the other individuals named above.
2. We do not pay commission to fundraisers.
3. We are not currently fundraising actively in the USA, Canada or Australia, which are the countries from which we have had reports about the activities.
4. We only support work in Thailand, so we have no involvement in Orphanages in Africa.
5. All official Thai Children's Trust emails come from an @thaichildrenstrust.org.uk email address.
If you receive a letter from any of the people listed above, or from anyone claiming to represent Thai Children's Trust and offering to pay you on commission, please report it to your local police as an attempted fraud.
If you are based in the USA or Canada, please report the matter here: http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx
If in doubt email webmaster@thaichildrenstrust.org.uk. Don't be taken in.

One individual contacted us after falling for the fraud perpetrated by 'Mr Arthur W Brown' and 'Mr Richard Smith'. Fortunately he took the basic precaution of checking with his bank before he took money from his account. If he had not done so, he would have lost $2,700.
